About the event
Bourgogne, Uncorked is an advanced masterclass exploring the places that sit outside the region’s most famous names but increasingly deserve attention.
Through 10 wines, we explore appellations from the Hautes-Côtes, Marsannay, Fixin, Monthélie, Auxey-Duresses and Saint-Romain to the changing Mâconnais, including Pouilly-Fuissé and its new Premier Cru classification. We examine how geology, elevation, exposure, climate, viticulture and winemaking shape these wines, and what makes them distinctive.
The class also explores value in modern Bourgogne, looking beyond price to consider quality, individuality and sense of place, and why these lesser-known appellations are becoming compelling alternatives to their more celebrated neighbours.
